Dr Nathan Warn

Clinical Psychologist and Director

Nathan is the Director of Life in Mind and a Clinical Psychologist with 7 years’ experience working in private practice and in a hospital setting.

Nathan is passionate about working collaboratively with clients from a holistic perspective, drawing on multiple therapeutic frameworks in order to best meet their individual needs. He practices from a person-centred approach, recognising that everybody has a unique story, that this story needs to be understood, and that the approach to treatment should reflect it.

Nathan has experience working with individuals from various backgrounds and presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He has training and experience working within a wide range of therapeutic approaches so that treatment can be flexibility tailored to meet the individual needs of each client and has experience working with older adolescents and adults struggling with adjustment disorder, depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, addiction, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, complex trauma, and personality disorders.

Nathan has training and experience in a range of therapies including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), mentalisation based therapy (MBT), and schema therapy.

Another of Nathan’s passions lies in martial arts, which he has practiced for more than 30 years, and role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. He has a special interest in how such pursuits can function as psychological protective factors, and how they may be used to augment traditional approaches in the treatment of complex mental health issues
